Important Information Regarding Occupational Health
Stockport Council is changing its Occupational Health Provider. Stockport has worked in collaboration with a number of AGMA Councils through a rigorous procurement process and Optima Health have been chosen to provide Occupational Health Services from the 1st April 2020. Optima Health are a leading supplier of Occupational Health (OH) services in the United Kingdom. Employing the largest pool of employed, skilled medical practitioners outside of the NHS, they support more than 150 customers and 800,000 employees throughout the UK.
During the period of transition managers will not be able to make any occupation health referrals to the current provider after 13th March 2020. New referrals to Optima can only be made from the 1st April.
It is a requirement of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) & the Data Protection Act (2018) to notify employees that individual employee medical files will be transferred to Optima Health from our current OH Provider. This transfer of records will enable our Occupational Health programme to continue and allow Optima Health to offer impartial medical advice to help employees and managers of the Council.
Please be reassured that the transfer will be undertaken in line with current legal requirements and in such a way as to ensure confidentiality at all times.
Please see the Occupational Health Privacy Notice on the SMBC website for further information regarding data collection:
