Connect 5 is a mental health promotion training programme based on the latest evidence base. Evaluation has shown it increases the confidence and core skills of frontline staff so they are more effective in having conversations about mental health and wellbeing. It has been designed to help people manage stress and distress and increase their resilience and mental wellbeing through positive change.
Connect 5 is an incremental three-session/ day programme. The programme underpins the principle of ‘Making Every Contact Count’ and supports the aim of making the best use of the skills and local contacts of frontline staff. Some staff will just undertake session 1 whilst others go on to do all three sessions.
